The
purpose of the Department of Vedic Science is to integrate
ancient Vedic wisdom and modern scientific knowledge.
This integration will help to give a clear direction for modern
scientific research by putting the human being and his consciousness
back to the centre of the scientific worldview.
On
the other side, latest scientific discoveries in the fields
of physics, biology and mathematics can help rediscover lost
or forgotten parts of Vedic knowledge and technology. There
are good reasons to assume that ancient cultures like the
Vedic civilisation in the past possessed much more scientific
knowledge than what is known about it nowadays. Ancient Sanskrit
texts, prehistoric buildings and the precise astronomical
knowledge of the Vedic culture suggest that thousands and
thousands years ago a technologically advanced culture was
present in many parts of this planet.
Written records in different continents prove that within
the last 50000 years at least two global catastrophes have
taken place which destroyed a great part of the scientific
and technological knowledge of these ancient civilisations.
For this reason the presently available Vedic scriptures mainly
contain spiritual wisdom and practical knowledge for the survival
of humanity, whereas the more technical knowledge has not
been fully restored.
By the integration of Vedic and modern scientific methodology
we are working on rediscovering these lost aspects of the
ancient knowledge of humanity.
