arcanamModule 6: Samadhi
The Perfection of Life in Relation with the Supreme

  • Explanation of the word “samadhi”: complete absorption and aiming towards one single object

  • The supreme object of samadhi is Bhagavan, the topmost aspect of transcendence

  • Worship and loving service of Krishna is the perfected stage of sanatana-dharma

  • This stage is called vaikuntha, “the stage of complete absence of fear”

  • The five limbs of bhakti-yoga:

    1. association with virtuous persons
    2. living according to the Vedic scriptures (esp. Bhagavad-gita and Bhagavat-purana)
    3. spiritual ceremonies
    4. meditation and prayer upon the maha-mantra
    5. pilgrimage, or creating a place of spiritual power
